The Holy Name Band is a concert band based in Louisville, Kentucky.
Directed by Carolyn H. Cook, we can be found most Monday nights, September
to June, playing at community events, nursing homes, assisted living
facilities, or any place else good music is needed in the Louisville area.
All are welcome at any venue.
A typical concert lasts about an hour. You’ll hear a great mix of works from
classical to jazz to show tunes. And, of course, there is always a march or
two thrown in for good measure.
Founded by the Holy Name Society in 1939, the band is 40 players strong. No
longer associated with the society, our members come from all walks of life,
age groups and belief orientations. Everyone who joins the band becomes part
of a dedicated family of musicians.
